4th of July Decor

Holiday Decor

The transition from Easter to 4th of July took awhile, due to Hobby Lobby being stingy on the holiday sale for a couple of weeks, but we are finally here! This holiday decor is only a couple of pieces, but still enough to make our home feel patriotic.

The 3 tin stars started off separate, but a little hot glue turned it into a cute string of red, white, and blue. I also took a burlap banner and draped it over the entry way table decor. I was able to lock the banner in place by putting the end of the string in the back of each drawer.

This HEB kitchen towel combines Texas and the 4th so it was a perfect fit for our home.

Bailey May wanted to show y’all are new addition to the holiday branch garland collection! This one has little metal stars in red, white, and blue and is the perfect size for our sound bar.

These burlap stars are an easy and cheap way to dress up our two indoor plants.

This home sweet home sign gives this cozy corner some American pride in a Southern style.

I saved the best for last – my USA gnomes. They are just too cute and were $3 each at Hobby Lobby!

Short, sweet, and patriotic – can’t wait to add to the collection next year. Hope everyone has a safe & wonderful 4th of July!

Easter Decor

Holiday Decor

This is our most recent decor and it is still up, shoutout to quarantine.

These burlap carrots are the cutest thing. For both of our Jesus focused holidays I try to put something religious in the spot next to the metal lamp and this “He is Risen” window was perfect.

Our little Easter kitchen pieces!

This is our little living room set up – the wood/metal bunny centerpiece, pom pom tail throw pillow, and my Harry Potter bunny guy (my favorite piece by far). Shoutout to Richy for getting me this pillow that I talked about for 2 weeks and was 100% over priced.

These are the most on brand planter inserts for our home – cotton, eucalyptus, and burlap.

Bailey May here to show her off her bandana change with the holiday and the sound bar garland.

Hope y’all had a great Easter! At this rate it will probably remain Easter in our home until 4th of July decorating becomes appropriate.

St. Patrick’s Day Decor

Holiday Decor

This is another light decor holiday for our home, but I am Irish and we both love beer so this holiday is always fun to play with.

I found these green shamrock lights at Dollar Tree & found this rustic shamrock to hang on the key rack at Hobby Lobby.

I am sure you can see a pattern in the kitchen – a spot on the cutting slab & a kitchen towel. Keeping it simple with these green pieces!

These were fun pieces for the planters – when Bailey May’s tail was not knocking them out of the pot lol.

Round 2 of the wood/metal garland pieces, this one was my favorite decor pieces for this holiday!

I did all this decorating and forgot to make sure I was wearing green – go figure.

Valentine’s Day Decor

Holiday Decor

This one was a light decor holiday, but was still fun to play with the rustic red aspect of Valentine’s Day! It also made a perfect setting for at home Valentine’s dinner date.

I love these little heart lights that I actually found at the dollar store. They give a warm red glow on the entry way and were perfect for the picture of us two.

This was my kitchen decor and I actually found the wooden tags at HEB. Finding a not horribly cheesy kitchen towel was a bit of a challenge and I ended up with this succulent one.

This is the piece that triggered my Valentine’s decor. I loved the rustic look of this truck and had to have it.

This wooden/metal garland was the perfect length and style for our sound bar/TV stand. Hobby Lobby is now making it for every holiday so you will be seeing this piece in its designated theme more often.

Can’t wait to add to this small collection next Valentine’s Day!

Christmas Decor

Holiday Decor

To start off our Christmas decor collection we went for a farmhouse plaid, burlap, & moose theme from one huge Hobby Lobby haul. I love this look & can not wait to keep adding on to it in the coming years!

I always make sure to put something hanging on the key rack. This little Santa was my parents for years and they gave it to me in college to decorate my dorm with & now it is part of our little home.

I love this cotton, cinnamon stick, and rustic bell garland paired with the faceless nativity. You can’t see it in this picture but on our entry way table there is a faceless picture of Richy and I so the nativity meshed perfectly.

I have a new found love for planter decor. This cute little snowman and Santa cheered up the rooms & looked great against out plants/branches.

Richy thought I was Martha Stewart when he came home to these monogrammed burlap stockings (no one tell him it was just a Hobby Lobby initial iron on). We had to get miss Bailey May a stocking of course and she got a little tree between the two rustic snowmen.

I like to decorate the kitchen but hate cluttered counters so I frequent these two spots – the corner of our granite slab and the kitchen towel spot.

I found this matching garland and it fit the bill perfectly!

We got the cutest baby tree, in a rustic pot, with cranberries, lights, and frosted tips. We got 2 packs of the black, red, and burlap ornaments that had the same frosted tips & cranberries. I also grabbed a pack of these burlap moose that tied the burlap bow/tree all together.

I typically keep the bathroom pretty simple when it comes to the holidays and happened to have this small towel on hand so I added it on top of our typical towel set up.

Oh & Bailey May wanted everyone to know that her bandana, blanket, and favorite toy matched our Christmas theme all season long.

I am missing a couple pictures of our moose items, but they will be back next year! Let me know your Christmas decor themes and any pieces you love to incorporate!

Holiday Decoration Overview

Holiday Decor

I take decorating very seriously – ask anyone who has been to our apartment. Since this is Richy & I’s first year in our little home it is the first year I get to buy everything for each holiday, big or small, so I am thriving at the moment. I decorate for everything, from Halloween to St. Patrick’s day, I/Hobby Lobby have you covered.

My trick to decorating is to find those places in our home that can easily hold a type of decor and then swap out as the holidays change. Once you solidify those couple of spots in each room where decor can easily sit it makes purchasing and placing items a breeze! If you look through each holiday on this page you will see what I am talking about.

I also check 3 stores in this exact order – Hobby Lobby, Target, Dollar Tree. Hobby Lobby is typically 70% of my decor and I try to go when the holiday I need is on sale, Target fills 25% of the missing pieces and is typically more expensive, and then every once in a while Dollar Tree will surprise you so I use that for about 5% of my decor.

Another aspect of holiday decor to keep in mind is your home’s typical aesthetic. Our home’s theme is rustic farmhouse so no matter what holiday I am decorating for I know that if I stick to cotton, burlap, neutrals, and wood decor it will look cohesive. You want your holiday decor to catch someone’s eye, but not stick out like a sore thumb.

Disclaimer #1 – When we purchased all of our Christmas decor it was so close to Thanksgiving and we had not figured out storage for it yet so we had to skip over Thanksgiving and put up Christmas ASAP. This is a topic Richy is still salty about so if you see him around remind him that we will celebrate the holy grail of holidays (Thanksgiving) in 2020 lol.

Disclaimer #2 – I forgot to take pictures of Fall & Halloween which are ironically my 2 favorite types of decor. Keep up with me until next September and I will make sure to document it all!

I hope I spark some holiday inspiration in you!
